Internship/Job Information:
The CALS student services office offers several online and on-campus resources to help students find internships, jobs and volunteer positions. Some of these resources include:
CALS Specific Internships (CSI): CSI is a database with more than 650 selected internships available to CALS students.
On-Campus Recruiting: More than 150 employers conduct on-campus interviews
Job Posting: Job bulletins in the career library that are organized by employment field.
CCNet: Once you create a CCNet prfile, you can access information and receive targeted correspondence about career related events, Alumni Mentor Network, and job/internship postings.
Career Workshops:
During the academic years, the CALS student services offers a number of workshops and presentations on a wide range of topics including: skill identification, resume/cover letter writing, internship information, networking, and applying to professional school. Career Library:
The career library contains print materials and web links pertaining to every major in CALS. Materials are searchable online at: www.cals.cornell.edu/cals/current/career/careerlibrary.cfm
Alumni Career Link:
The Alumni Career link network contains more than 700+ CALS alumni that have volunteered to provide assistance to current CALS students explore career options, networking for potential internships or jobs, and researching for graduate school.
Counseling and Advising:
Students in CALS can meet individually with our career counselors by appointment to discuss career options and job search plans.
Drop-in Hours:
Our career advisors offer several hours during the week for student to come in and ask quick questions, critique cover letters and second draft resumes, or offer individualized job search and career exploration assistance. Drop-in hours are:
Tuesdays & Wednesday: 9:30am – 11:30am
Thursdays & Fridays: 1:00pm – 3:00pm
Self-Assessment Tools:
The CALS office offers self-assessment tools that can help you identify and organize your skills and interests to see how they relate to various careers. Speak with our career counselors to see what interest/skill assessments are best for you.
