As the semester comes to a close, finals are on the horizon for many of us. For some, finals week can be a very stressful time. It may seem impossible to balance all of the papers, projects, and exams that will be due in the upcoming two weeks. Rest assured, however, it is possible to succeed. Studies show that if you balance studying with breaks, retaining the information learned will be much easier. Take a walk in the (hopefully) sunny weather, or grab some food with good friends.

Do you feel like you are experiencing extraordinary amounts of stress? There are resources available for you. CAPS has some great opportunities for students who need someone to talk to. There are also advisors available in 140 Roberts Hall (CALS Student Services) who are ready and willing to help students in need. The advisors in CALS Student Services are experts in helping students in stressful situations. If there is a problem in your final schedule, e.g. having more than two finals within a twenty four hour period, you should contact the professor of the larger course to see about a make-up final.

It is important to understand that one semester worth of grades do not prevent you from achieving your career aspirations. That being said, the career team in the Student Services Office is available to discuss a possible change in major or change in career track. You can meet with the career advisors to discuss job opportunities and internship availabilities. CALS Student Services will no longer be having walk-in hours for the remainder of this semester, but appointments can still be made through the online scheduler in DUST.

Good luck on the remainder of your semester; and remember, CALS Student Services is ready to help any student in need.
