Communications Student Intern – Position Description
Center for Sustainable Global Enterprise – 253 Sage Hall
Student Interns are a key part of the team in the Center for Sustainable Global Enterprise assisting with key programs and activities. Student Interns work eight to ten hours per week and are paid $8.10/hr
POSITION COMPONENTS:
· Work with the Center’s Associate Director, and Marketing & Communications Liaison to bring a fresh perspective to the program with the purpose of achieving higher visibility for the Center.
- Support the Associate Director in developing and executing a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy.
· Execute small writing assignments such as drafting text and articles promoting Center programs and activities; covering and writing about events as assigned; and editing articles submitted to the Center.
· May be asked to work on special assignments such as preparing slide shows and organizing photo catalogs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong editing and writing skills.
- Experience or course work in journalism, marketing, and/or communications.
o Strong attention to detail.
o Facility for mastering information quickly.
o Strong work ethic and self-motivated. Being punctual is especially crucial.
o Receptive attitude toward constructive feedback and desire to learn.
o Creativity.
- General understanding of Sustainable Enterprise, desired.
- Knowledge of social media sites, community building tools and managing/creating content, desired.
TIME COMMITMENT:
o Minimum of 8 hours per week.
