Spring semester has just begun and as you turn your focus to acing your classes, the next thing on your mind might be what to do after final grades post. I’m talking about summer and beyond (for the seniors among us). Maybe you’ve already decided on taking a class or participating in a great internship or even just taking some down time to relax and volunteer in your hometown.
But, if you’re like me and have no idea what is happening three months from now, there is no reason to worry. The CALS Student Services with the help of Cornell Career Services has planned quite a few helpful career fairs and prep sessions to help you get that internship or job.
The most important events are probably the Career Fairs themselves. These include the Nonprofit and Government Fair and the All-Ivy Environmental and Sustainable Development Fair, February 27th and February 28th respectively (the All-Ivy fair is at Columbia University ; transportation is available – sign up through CCNet and register for the fair here). If you are looking for a summer job or internship there is the Summer Opportunities Fair, Thursday, February 20th.
Before you start handing out your resume, you may want to prepare. Consider attending Prepare for a Career Fair Visit on Monday, February 11th. CALS Student Services also hosts Resumaniacs as well as regular drop-ins and appointments for resumes, along with cover letters and job search help. Easy scheduling includes stopping at our office, via phone or online through DUST.
There are far too many workshops, career fairs and other events to list in this post so check out the Career Event Calendar to find more options.
